JOB TITLE: Associate Operations Engineer

Description: The successful candidate will function as part of a team with a focus on supporting and deploying Parametric’s business critical proprietary and third party software. This is a fast paced organization with a frequent release cycle. The successful incumbent will thrive on change but focus on the operational stability of the supported platforms. We are looking for someone who takes pride in fantastic customer service.
The Parametric Application Support team works as part of the Development team, in an Agile/Scrum environment, using .NET and SQL Server as primary tools. We strive to automate all processes to ensure reliability and repeatability.
The applications supported are business critical systems which must have a high degree of availability and reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle and resolve tickets for supported systems and applications
  • Provide application installation, configuration, and troubleshooting expertise for proprietary applications in Production environment as well as development, quality assurance, and support environments.
  • Lead deployment activities and coordinate cross-team resources
  • Provide acceptance testing of supportability of applications and systems
  • Follow established procedures for managing business risk when updating production systems
  • Use scripts to automate repetitive tasks and to ensure the same process is used for testing and production
  • Participate in a rotation for extended hours monitoring and on-call availability
  • Fully understand the business need(s) met by our applications and systems
  • Provide regular status updates on assigned tasks and projects
  • Excellent oral and written communication

Desired Skills and Experience:
  • 2 years SQL (MS-TSQL preferred)
  • 2 years scripting languages (Powershell preferred)
  • Effective communication skills – verbal, in writing, and over phone
  • College degree
  • Financial industry experience is a plus
  • Help desk experience is a plus
