Parametric Wins CIO Innovation Award for its VRP Strategies

SEATTLE, WA, December 12, 2016 - Parametric Portfolio Associates LLC ("Parametric") is pleased to be the recipient of a CIO 2016 Industry Innovation Award that honors the very best of institutional investing.

Parametric’s Volatility Risk Premium Strategies received the award in the Core Investments, Equities category (including alternative equity beta) for its Volatility Risk Premium strategy. The strategy is “designed to harvest diversifying risk premium without the use of leverage, market timing, or active bets on the direction of market volatility”—and that can be used as a liquid alternative. The award was presented at CIO’s seventh annual award ceremony on December 12, which celebrates innovation in the asset management and asset owner communities.

“Parametric is honored to be presented with CIO’s highest honor and recognition from its journalists and distinguished panelists for our Volatility Risk Premium Strategies, which are offered in multiple asset classes and aim to provide investors with risk premiums while increasing portfolio diversification and enhancing liquidity,” said Brian Langstraat, Chief Executive Officer, Parametric. Winners of the 2016 awards were chosen by the CIO editorial team in conjunction with an Advisory Board of former and current CIOs including Jagdeep Bachher (University of California), Robin Diamonte (UTC), Greg Williamson (American Red Cross), Carrie Thome (WARF), and Brian Pellegrino (UPS).
