We Stand with Our African American Team Members and the Black Community: A Letter from Our CEO

Everyone at Parametric started the week of June 1, 2020, with a powerful sense of shock, dismay, and confusion. The prior weekend had brought a dramatic public outpouring of anger at the senseless death of George Floyd in the custody of the Minneapolis police. Critically, it followed the deaths of Ahmaud Arbery in Georgia, Breonna Taylor in Kentucky, and far too many others.

It’s clear, and no surprise to black Americans and other people of color, that racism remains a formidable barrier to the safety of many and to the realization of justice and equal opportunity in the United States. But to combat it successfully, it has to be everyone’s fight, and not just a problem we leave to people of color.

Accordingly, Parametric recognizes that we must recommit to fostering an environment in which everyone feels safe and everyone belongs. We must also recognize that our teammates of color, and specifically our African American coworkers, may be facing pain and suffering that’s difficult for the rest of us to comprehend. We’ll continue to support them as colleagues and friends.

In the meantime, we hope you’ll join us in contributing to organizations seeking to break the cycle of racism and despair and make America a place where everyone agrees that black lives matter.
