Parametric Announces Planned Retirement of Jack Hansen, Chief Investment Officer of Minneapolis Investment Center

SEATTLE, November 29, 2018 – Parametric Portfolio Associates LLC (Parametric), an affiliate of Eaton Vance Corp. (NYSE: EV), today announced the retirement of Jack Hansen, CFA, Chief Investment Officer of Parametric’s Minneapolis Investment Center, effective November 1, 2019.

“Jack has done a wonderful job creating value for clients over his long and distinguished career at the company, a span that pre-dates our acquisition of The Clifton Group in 2012," said Mr. Langstraat. “His leadership and vision, built over his 35 years of experience, have been essential to the development of an industry-leading investment organization. His passions for innovation and client service are noted by all, and he leaves a tremendous legacy as one of our industry’s preeminent experts in derivatives and derivative-based strategies.”

Following Mr. Hansen’s retirement, Parametric will fully integrate the leadership of all investment and research functions under the Office of the Chief Investment Officer (CIO), which will be led by newly appointed co-CIOs Timothy Atwill, PhD, CFA, and Thomas Lee, CFA. They will report to Brian Langstraat, Chief Executive Officer, Parametric. Currently, Parametric’s Seattle-based and Minneapolis based investment centers have distinct leadership and reporting structures. In addition, Parametric is creating a unified Global Research and Development function that will be led by Paul Bouchey.

Beginning in November 2019, Mr. Atwill and Mr. Lee will oversee the firm's investment and research teams, which encompass domestic, international developed and emerging market equities, commodities, derivatives and multi-asset strategies.

“Creating an integrated CIO office is a natural development in the multi-year integration of legacy Parametric and Clifton Group teams. Closer coordination of product development and sales, along with a centralized CIO office, supports our investment approach and maximizes output from the investment and research teams,” said Mr. Langstraat. “Tim and Tom are proven leaders who will continue providing the performance consistency, institutional quality and transparency that we are achieving for our clients today.”

Tim Atwill currently serves as Head of Investment Strategy within Parametric’s Seattle investment office. Tim has been with Parametric since 2010. Tom Lee is currently Managing Director for Investment Strategy and Research in Minneapolis focused on derivative-based strategies and customized risk and exposure management. Tom joined the Clifton Group in 1994.

Also effective in November 2019, Paul Bouchey, who currently serves as CIO leading Parametric’s investment, research and strategy activities for Seattle-based strategies, will become Global Head of Research & Development, reporting to the Office of the CIO. Paul has been with Parametric since 2006.

“Paul’s focus on leading Global Research and Development is an acknowledgment of the critical importance of this role to the overall evolution of the firm,” said Mr. Langstraat. “Research has always been an area of passion and excellence for Paul, and we’re excited for the impact Paul’s leadership of a unified R&D effort will have on Parametric’s continued success.”
